[How-to] - QX Series: Mapping a tool to a PCM

The following steps should be followed to establish wireless communication between the QX tool and PCM module.

Tool Setup

1. Plug the tool in with the USB cable.
2. After acknowledging the Sync to Current Time message, go to Setup->General Setup.
3. Give a unique Location ID to the tool.
4. Mark the Enable Wireless checkbox.
5. Assign the PAN ID = Location ID.
6. Set the Channel to 20.
7. Set the Transmit Power to 2.
8. Send the data to the tool.

PCM Setup

1. Go to Setup->Wireless Tool Setup.
2. Double click on the row showing the PCM.
3. Under the Radio Settings set the PAN ID to match the tool.
4. Set Ch 1 to 20. We do not use Ch 2.
5. Set the Transmit Power to 4.
6. Under the Mapped Tool Settings add the Location ID to match the tool.
7. Select the Sync Time button.
8. Select Ok.
9. Plug in the battery to the tool and you should see a Login Success message in the ICS message window. This indicates that the tool and PCM are communicating.
